Jonas' Family Reunion

Last weekend, Jonas and I met up with Carmela, owner of Sam (Jonas' mom). His brother, Sailor, and sister, Sevilla, also made an appearance. We had a blast at Luther Burbank dog park. All the pups were so cute.

Prego Update - 25 Weeks

Yesterday I visited my friend Kim, an ultrasound technician at Highline Hospital. She was kind enough to squeeze me into the office for a peek at baby, now 24ish/25 weeks. She may even be able to get me a 3D photo in a few weeks. Baby looked healthy, already weighing 1lb. 8 oz! It yawned a whole lot, hicupped, played with its toes and even found time to give Kim and I the "peace" sign with its fingers. :) She said I could be closer to 26 weeks due to the size and weight of baby.
I was VERY close to finding out the gender, but I decided not to.
It's very tempting to do, but the surprise will be worth it. I'll have my whole life to buy clothes for this baby, so I'm not too worried about it.

Prego - 20-Week Update

We are officially 20 weeks! Here's a new pic of my ever-growing belly. Baby ate well in Santa Monica--Mom gained a whopping 4 pounds in 6 days! It's fun to see the belly grow. Baby is kicking up a storm now, especially when I eat. Matt could even feel a few kicks and jabs the other day.

We bought the nursery bedding the other day:

Santa Monica - 2008

For my Christmas present this year, Matt purchased a very thoughtful getaway to sunny Santa Monica, CA. The icing on the travel cake? Two tickets to The Price is Right!

We arrived at the beautiful Fairmont Miramar Hotel Friday night. It was located right off Ocean Ave with a simply fabulous view of the famous Santa Monica Pier. Saturday afternoon we skirted around Malibu, drove through Beverly Hills in our Cadillac to see some phatty mansions, then we met our dear friends, Sean and Emelie, Saturday night for dinner and drinks. Sunday we made a trip to Venice and Manhattan Beaches. And Monday, the day we had been waiting for (especially me), we made the trek to CBS studios to get into The Price is Right.

Although we didn't make it "on" the show, we did make it in (barely). After a 6-hour wait, we FINALLY got a ticket and a big ol' yellow nametag. I wore my "Make Womb for Me" T-shirt with pride. But my clever little tee wasn't enough to compete with bubbly blonde college girl and three loud, screaming women. They got my place in contestant's row. :( Our show will air February 29th just in case you're intereseted. Set the Tivo!

Baby Mullet Update - 1/11

Matt and I had our 2nd ultrasound today, or what we fondly refer to as the "Skeletor" "whoa creepy" "what is that?" ultrasound.

Baby is very healthy at 4.5 months. Fingers, toes, legs, arms, and all major organs accounted for. And despite looking a little Halloweenish in the face, it was as cute as could be. It even turned its little head toward the lens and started moving its mouth up and down. (Gee. That can't possibly be my kid, can it?) I'm convinced it was trying to tell us what gender it was.

We remained strong and didn't find out the sex, although we both have a sneaking suspicion it's a girl. But this isn't the Men's Wearhouse, folks--there's no guarantee. So we're not buying pink quite yet.

P.S. - I felt the wee one's first kicks Sunday, 1/13. Baby likes Fresca and Parmesan/Garlic Pita Chips. YUM!

Her Name is Pumpkin

Poor Pumpkin. She's part of our family, yet I excluded her from the Christmas card this year. And she's only received a brief name mention here.
Here are some mugshots of our little furry girl, Pumpkin.

We can't forget to give a tribute to the late "Trapper", Pumpkin's cuddle slave:

His Name is Jonas

I thought I would post some recent footage and photos of Jonas the super puppy.

He grows so much every day! He is now 19 weeks old, or almost 5 months. What a cutie, huh? He just started his second round of puppy training classes on 1/2/08. Needless to say, he's the biggest dog in the bunch. He is very easy to train because he LOVES food and will do virtually anything for it. His new favorite hobby is prewashing my dishes in the dishwasher. That means I don't have to use water to pre-rinse. It's Jonas, the planet-saving pooch! He has also found it quite amusing to play with empty milk jugs. Did I mention he eats everything in sight? He is going to doggie daycare 1 - 2 times a week (I know, I know, I'm a hypocrite). But he loves it, the daycare folks love him and we love it, too, because it poops him out.

Here's a vid of Jonas' first romp in the snow:
