Santa Monica - 2008

For my Christmas present this year, Matt purchased a very thoughtful getaway to sunny Santa Monica, CA. The icing on the travel cake? Two tickets to The Price is Right!

We arrived at the beautiful Fairmont Miramar Hotel Friday night. It was located right off Ocean Ave with a simply fabulous view of the famous Santa Monica Pier. Saturday afternoon we skirted around Malibu, drove through Beverly Hills in our Cadillac to see some phatty mansions, then we met our dear friends, Sean and Emelie, Saturday night for dinner and drinks. Sunday we made a trip to Venice and Manhattan Beaches. And Monday, the day we had been waiting for (especially me), we made the trek to CBS studios to get into The Price is Right.

Although we didn't make it "on" the show, we did make it in (barely). After a 6-hour wait, we FINALLY got a ticket and a big ol' yellow nametag. I wore my "Make Womb for Me" T-shirt with pride. But my clever little tee wasn't enough to compete with bubbly blonde college girl and three loud, screaming women. They got my place in contestant's row. :( Our show will air February 29th just in case you're intereseted. Set the Tivo!
