Spring Training 2010

Let me just take a moment here.
*rubbing eyes*
Okay. Yup, that really is OUR lil' girl hanging with Ken Griffey, Jr.
Having a Grammy who works for the Mariners isn't a half-bad gig!

What a trip!

Em and I flew down to Peoria, AZ with Grammy to hang with Seattle's boys of summer.
Griffey's professional baseball days are numbered, so we knew we had to fly down this year to get this pretty little picture above.
I was as giddy as a schoolgirl with a crush! It took all my might not to drop the camera and jump into his arms. The best part? He came right up to her, without me asking, gave her a hug and posed for a photo.
Someone get this guy in political office!

Aside from hanging with Griff for a bit, we basked in 75-degree weather, swam in the pool, had two nice dinners out and played at the ballpark for hours. It was a quick trip, but we took advantage of every minute. Em and I also had the opportunity to meet and chat with Seattle's Meeghan Black, host of Evening Magazine and gardening with Cisco. She was the nicest lady! And beautiful to boot. Here are some pics of the trip!

Dinner with Uncle Blaine and Aunt Marilou

Throwing heat from the pitcher's mound

Playing with baby Max - 9 months old

Em's new BFF, Teresa

Walkin' like she's been there before, taking over the place.

Da man, Griffey.

Pure cuteness, although Matt seems to think she looks like a nun in this hat.

Em enamored with Chuck Armstrong's granddaughter, Audrey - 2 1/2 years old

Nice view!
According to a friend, Em even got a brief moment on our local news station, KIRO7.
