D.C. & OBX Vacation

The 3 Mullets have officially done D.C. and the Outer Banks! We packed up last Wednesday and flew to our nation's capital for a 3-night stay. Matt was there on business, so Emi and I just tagged along.
In between naps, Emi and I took strolls in the warm D.C. sunshine. Poor Matt was stuck inside listening to banking "this and that," but managed to escape Friday afternoon for a walk with us.

Saturday, we drove the rental Prius to the Outer Banks of North Carolina for a 4-night stay in Salvo with my aunts, uncles and cousins. The long drive was worth it! A gorgeous, 6-bedroom home was waiting for us. We were right on the beach - sunsets & moonrises completed our day, and plenty of good food and beverages completed our evenings. We flew kites, worked on a puzzle with the family, checked out the town of Hatteras, Kitty Hawk and Avon, watched kite surfing, laid by the pool and played on the beach. It was so relaxing!

Emily did great on both flights and during the 6-hour car ride to N.C. - we are so proud of our little girl. She settled right into her sleep schedule at both locations. The baby/adult ratio was pretty good for her in Salvo - plenty of attention!

Emi woke up at an ungodly hour the first morning (5 a.m.), so we watched the sun rise together. Despite mommy being super tired, it was a moment I'll never forget.
