Wow.
Last year on this day at 5:42 p.m., we became parents. This teeny 7-lb. girl with 10 little long fingers and 10 little sweet toes was placed in our arms and our hearts forever.
Our life was fulfilling already, but Emily was the icing on the cake. Parenthood is that only which you can experience yourself and can't describe. Seeing your baby learn and grow is the most incredible source of entertainment.
Every day I witness Emily inching further away from helpless and dependent and closer to capable and strong. It's a little sad knowing she doesn't need me as much as she once did, but at the same time I'm so proud of the independent, confident person she's becoming.

We had a BBQ celebration yesterday for Emily's birthday. The sun was shining and the rain stayed away, so it made for the perfect day. Here are some pictures of the event!
