Getting Dirty

A group of my Mama friends and I bundled up the kiddos and tromped through Yost Park trail yesterday. It was so much fun! Jonas and Sage (doggies) were the fearless companions, leading the tiny tots down the trail. The kids were stomping through mud, playing in the creek, walking over bridges and kicking through the leaves. They all were smiling from ear-to-ear, having such a blast being outside. We were lucky enough to miss the rain showers yesterday afternoon, too. Hooray for a wonderful day!

Viva Hawaii!

Weeeeee're baaaaaack!

In a coconut shell: I. Love. Hawaii.

I'm secretly finding ways to live there. If not for the sandy beaches and tropical atmosphere, then for a chance of me getting some kind of tan that stays around for more than two days. But a tan would be nearly impossible really, so I guess I'm stuck in the Pacific NW where folks respect my pale skin rather than wince at it.

We had a blast. Em was a peach - slept well, ate well, played well. Happy as all get out. We were all happy to have a change of scenery.
She had her own room - much to all of our delights. A HUGE pool (with waterslides) in which to swim, and lots of attention and playtime from friends, Adam and Brittany. Oh - Mama and Papa had a Starbucks right across the street - SCORE!

A Week of Firsts

First, there was wearing Papa's socks...

Then there was water coloring...

Then, in came the Playdoh...


Then, she enjoyed her first caramel apple, made by Mama...

Well, I should say she enjoyed licking the caramel.
She can't eat the apple because she still has NO TEETH!

All in all, it was a pretty good week!

And now we're off to Hawaii - "Aloha!"
