Look Who's One Month Old!
Deep thoughts by Emily Mullet

"Damn, I'm hot!"

Sweet Emi is one month old! Here's what we've learned about her in 30 days:
1) She likes to eat. A lot. And when she's hungry, she wants to eat NOW!
2) She likes to try to poo on Mommy's hand during diaper changes
3) She enjoys car and stroller rides
4) She likes to sleep in her pack 'n' play and in your arms, but not so much in the swing or in her crib
5) She digs being cozy in the Baby Bjorn and going for long walks with her puppy, Jonas
6) She hates having and passing dirty britches
7) She's a morning person...very alert during the day and sleepy at night
8) She likes hearing Papa's voice

Emily and Papa

Papa and Emi zonked.
Emily is almost one month old now and doing great. She's eating like a cow and growing like a weed, so she's finally starting to fill out her newborn onesies. We are still giving her formula after each feed because Mom's supply just can't keep up with demand. She's sleeping for 4-hour to 5-hour stretches at night, so we're hoping she'll sleep through the night sooner than later.
Her favorite hobbies are sleeping, feeding and being swaddled.
She's becoming more alert as the days pass, but she's still very newborn-ish.
We both are anxiously awaiting the day when she smiles and coos.
She's an extremely good baby and we are so lucky to have her.

"Jonas, Lay Down Like Pumpkin"

The other day, Jonas just couldn't settle down. He was pacing back and forth for about 30 minutes. He was making me nervous so I finally said, "Jonas, look how Pumpkin is chillin' on the stairs. Why don't you lay down like her?" Ten minutes later, Jonas went to the staircase and literally tried laying down like her. His 67-pound frame could barely fit on one stair. Pumpkin didn't move during all of this. Matt and I were laughing so hard we had tears in our eyes!

Emi is 10 Days Old

Mama's New Joy

The Whole Fam Damily (minus Pumpkin)
It's hard to believe our sweet little pea is 10 days old. She was taken off the bili lights Sunday and she's doing just fine. She is eating very well (every two hours) and gaining her weight back. She sleeps and eats and that is her day. Sounds pretty relaxing, eh? Even though I only get a few hours of sleep a night, I'm feeling well rested. I think I'm still on the new mommy adrenaline, as I can't sleep during the day when she sleeps. Our new favorite hobby is taking walks with Jonas in the afternoon! Mr. Jonas does very well walking with the stroller. He's almost a better walker with it than without it.
Sunday, Scott, Jenelle and the girls came by for a visit and my mom followed suit Monday:

Yesterday, I strapped her in her suggly seat and we made our way down to Tukwila to visit Grandma Bonnie, Grandpa Steve and Great Grandma Bessie.

Tomorrow, Emily makes her first appearance at Safeco Field for my mom's Grandma shower!
